Rafael Payro, Managing Director
Mr. Payro, a Mexican national, is a founding partner of Alta Growth Capital. He has nineteen years of investment banking, private equity investment and corporate finance experience in Latin America. Prior to joining Alta Growth Capital, Mr. Payro was a Partner with Baring Latin America Partners where he was engaged in strategic initiatives with portfolio companies Consorcio Hogar and Fomento Alimenticio. Previously, Mr. Payro was Co-Managing Director of Rushes Mexico, a subsidiary of Liberty Media, where he co-led a turnaround of the company. Previously, he worked for nine years in New York in private equity and investment banking in Latin America. With AIG Capital Partners in New York, Mr. Payro participated in private equity investments in telecommunications, transportation, and infrastructure. At Santander Investment and InverMexico / The Blackstone Group, Mr. Payro provided financial and strategic advice to Latin American clients in diverse sectors and was also active in private equity investments. Mr. Payro currently serves on the board of directors of Consorcio Hogar. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad La Salle, where he graduated with honors. He speaks English and Spanish.
